Quizbot is a free AI quiz maker for anyone who needs a quiz fast: students revising for an exam, teachers who want a quick check for understanding, or a team lead running a training session. You give it the material, choose the kind of questions you want, and it writes the whole quiz — questions, options and correct answers — so you can start quizzing straight away instead of writing questions by hand.

Example: a quiz made from one paragraph

Photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts of plant cells. Using energy from sunlight, plants turn carbon dioxide and water into glucose, releasing oxygen as a by-product. Chlorophyll, the green pigment in chloroplasts, absorbs mainly red and blue light.

  1. True / False

Plants release carbon dioxide as a by-product of photosynthesis.

Answer: False — they release oxygen.

  2. True / False

  3. Fill in the Blanks

Make a quiz from a file, no account needed

Upload a PDF or Word file in the box at the top of this page, choose true/false, fill in the blanks or multiple choice, and you get 5 questions with answers. You do not need an account, and your file is not stored.

Files can be up to 5 MB, and the questions come from the first pages. You get 3 free tries a day. Scanned files need a free account, because their text has to be read from the page images first.

Which question type should you choose?

True/false works best for a fast check of facts, for example at the start of a lesson. Fill in the blanks makes you recall key terms rather than recognise them, which suits vocabulary and definitions.

Multiple choice is the easiest to mark and works well for checking understanding across a whole topic. Open-ended questions ask for an explanation in the learner’s own words, so use them when you want to see how someone thinks, not just what they remember.

Where your quiz can go

With a free account you can save a quiz, edit any question or answer, and use it in the way that suits you: practise online, download it as Word or PDF to print, or send it to Google Classroom, Moodle, Canvas, D2L, Schoology, Blackboard or Kahoot.

What you get for free

Creating an account is free and needs no credit card. Free accounts get fresh credits every month — enough for about 50 questions — and the free plan includes the four most-used question types: true/false, fill in the blanks, multiple choice and open-ended.

Every source works on the free plan, so you can build a quiz from a file, a web page, a YouTube video, a photo of your notes or just a topic name. When you need bigger quizzes or advanced types such as matching, calculation and Bloom’s Taxonomy sets, you can upgrade at any time.

Why use an AI quiz maker instead of a chatbot?

You can ask a general chatbot to “write me a quiz”, but you then have to copy the questions somewhere, format them, check the answers are spread sensibly and turn them into something people can actually take. Quizbot is built only for quizzes: it reads long documents in full, balances where the correct answers fall, keeps an answer key with every quiz and lets you play, share or export the result in one click.

Your quizzes are also saved, so you can come back to them, edit them and reuse them with another class.

Tips for a better quiz

Give the generator focused material: one chapter or topic at a time produces sharper questions than a whole textbook. Use true/false and fill in the blanks for quick recall practice, and multiple choice or open-ended when you want to test understanding. If you are studying, take the quiz the next day rather than straight away — spaced practice sticks much better.
